Thank you for your interest in Boykin Spaniels and The BSCBAA Breeder Directory Program. Our goal is to help the future Boykin Spaniel owner make the right choice when acquiring a Boykin Spaniel as a new member of the family, whether a new puppy, rescue dog, retired dog or a finished trained dog. We will help assist you in your process and search for the perfect Boykin Spaniel to fit your home environment and your family.

Boykin Spaniels are an amazing gundog - both flushing and retrieving seasoned hunting companions; yet a wonderful household pet and best friend. 

We suggest that when you contact any breeder that you be prepared to ask questions of the breeder and also be prepared to answer questions from the breeder. Please only seek breeders that do the required OFA testing for the Boykin Spaniel Breed. See the Health Education page to be informed. See the FAQ page and the BSCBAA Code of Ethics and read our Health Education page for assistance before contacting a breeder or making a final decision.

Requirements of our breeders in the Directory Program are as follows:

    • Listed breeders in the Breeder Directory Program must be a member in good standing of the BSCBAA and the AKC.
    • Listed breeders must be a continuing and current member of the BSCBAA for one year.
    • Listed breeders must operate in accordance with the BSCBAA Code of Ethics.
    • Listed breeders must breed purebred Boykin Spaniels and may breed one other breed.

Our BSCBAA Code of Ethics require that all the basic health checks; such as, Hip Dysplasia OFA/PENN HIP, Eye Examination by a boarded ACVO Ophthalmologist with results registered with OFA or CERF, Patellar Luxation OFA Evaluation, Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA) tested, EIC (Exercise Induced Collapse) and Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) be performed in their breeding program and results disclosed. The above six requirements must be met to obtain a CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) number. Optional Test are Congenital Cardiac Database and Elbow Dysplasia.
